I recall a time not so long ago when there was a far greater connectivity between people in Pemberton Township. I wonder what can be done to bring it back.
We don't need to create complicated festivities or costly programs. Those weren't needed in the past. A few simple but interesting things to get a few little groups of people involved would be a good start.
I think we might try to offer things locally that no one is currently doing, hobby-based groups, seasonal groups. Just a couple at first.
How TRUE! The Train Station would have been a GREAT opportunity, but some residents who did not like what Mike Tamn & his supporters were doing a the location bowed out. Sad, when someone doesn't get things just the way they want it & they "take their ball & go home".
It would have/could have been a GREAT asset to our Town if promoted by all who claim to support it. A perfect example is Diane Stinney and Sherry Scull claiming it was a political ping pong back in late 2010 when Wadsworth, Prickett and George(don't know last name) started to support its continued opening.
Stinney made it political when they failed to vote against cancelling the Trust's lease. How dumb was she that she did not realize that vote sealed the fate of the Trust at that site.
Scull made it political when she recused herself due to a so called conflict of interest. This women is president of couincil now abnd she does not know there is NO conflict unless there is money attached to the matter. Furthermore, she participated in a closed door seassion about the Trust, Train Station and the lease once according to Andy Bayer. Why wasn't it a conflict then
However, they were proven wrong when you saw ALL parties cared about it remaining one of the only attractions in the Township.
